'99:
At
the 17th of Desember we had a (one more) gig at Spider Night-Club in
Askim.
Summer’99:
New songs
are made, and in August X:Machina are playing on two festivals: Kraft-festivalen
(in our hometown, Askim) and Unnerud-festivalen (in our "home-nabourtown"
Spydeberg)
April’99:
The
Norwegian label Angel Productions is formed, and they arrange a meeting
with X:machina. They want to release a single with X:machina. X:machina
are playing at So What for the 3rd time (Neon Club). This time with
Anax Imperator.
March
‘99:
X:machina
are playing on the release-party for Psychoactivated IV, at Mars in
Oslo.
November
'98:
"Phasing
Codes" is finally finished. The CD is mostly used for promotion.
October
'98:
X:machina are playing at So what for the 2nd time (Neon
Club). This time with Oslo Synth Band and Zuma. The concert was recorded.
Some of the songs are available on "Phasing codes".
Summer
’98:
X:machina
are working on the demo-CD, "Phasing codes". "Don’t tell lies" is recorded
with help from Einar’s sister, Camilla. In July X:machina are playing
at a 80’s party in Askim.
February
’98:
X:machina
performes their first gig; at the synth-club Neon at So What, Oslo.
Some Solformørkelsen songs have been remixed (such as "Space journey",
"Guideline", "Subsatellite") and some songs are new (e.g. "Elemental
time").
December
’97:
X:machina
are playing for the first time. "Black Voices" is recorded for the CD
compilation "Psychoactivated - phase IV" (released 14 months later...)
September
’97:
Being
the last concert for Solformørkelsen, Electric Cafe became a huge success.
Two other electro-bands were playing that night; Melt & Critical. It
was that night X:machina were formed when Einar & Petter (from Solformørkelsen)
start talking with Thomas Olaussen (from Critical)
July
’97:
Solformørkelsen
get a new member; Lars Erik Ruud, on synthesizers. April ’97: Solformørkelsen
were the main act at Alternative night, phase II. New material was played,
including the cover-version of DM’s "Photographic".
December
’96:
Solformørkelsen
are playing at Dance-Party ’96 in Askimhallen. In front of 2500 people
they perform "Space journey", "Visions of love" and one cover version;
this time A flock of seagulls; "Messages". A huge success for three
very nervous guys.
September
’96:
Solformørkelsen
perform at St.Croix, Fredrikstad, on a synth / electro- festival. Other
bands playing: Anstalt
and TV-Noise.
August
’96:
First
demo-tape is finished. Because of the 4-track-studio recording, the
quality is not too great.
March-Sept
’96:
New
songs were written, new equipment bought and sound improved.
March
’96:
Solformørkelsen
went to studio to record "Mechanischer Mensch", for the CD compilation
Kraft-rock’96. March 1 ’96: Solformørkelsen are ready for their first
concert, which took place at Parklokalet in Askim. The sound at this
time included dark synth-sequences, with a dark, sometimes yelling voice
in front. 9 songs were played including "Black voices", "Guideline",
and one cover-version, this time Depeche Mode’s "Work hard". A huge
success.
Autumn
1995:
Solformørkelsen
(English: Solar Eclipse) was formed by Petter Norstrøm (synth, programming),
Kristian Brovold (synth) and Einar Kristian F. Vågmo (vocals). After
many years listening to EBM / synth-acts like Nitzer Ebb, Front 242,
Depeche Mode and Leather Strip, these three synth-freaks wanted to make
music on their own.
